Every lane, shadow, whisper, and face has a story waiting to be told. In this hands-on filmmaking camp, learners become young storytellers—exploring their surroundings to find real stories, then crafting and capturing them through film.
Turn Ordinary Moments into Extraordinary Stories
Introduction to Filmmaking
Learners dive into camera basics—framing, zooming, tilting, and shot types (long, mid, close). Through hands-on practice and short film viewings, they explore how visuals, sound, and movement create emotion and meaning in storytelling.
What is a Story?
Children learn to spot stories in the everyday using tools like observation, interviews, and site visits. They explore key story elements—characters, moments, settings—and how to capture them with intention.
Storyboarding
Ideas are shaped into simple visual plans. Learners sketch scenes and shot sequences to guide their filming process, building structure and clarity for their story.
Individual Work
Each learner captures a one-shot story using their new skills. They share their work and thought process with peers, learning to reflect and review constructively.
Discovering Stories Everywhere
In small groups, learners choose everyday processes—like tea making, bird watching, or carpentry—and turn them into short documentaries. They observe, plan, film, and shape stories rooted in the real world around them.
Participants learn basic editing techniques, add music, sound, and voiceovers, and discover how pacing and sound design shape how a story feels.
