Young Naturalists Camp

This camp invites young explorers to immerse themselves in the Dhun bioreserve with all their senses—feeling the earth beneath their feet, spotting and listening to birds, shaping clay with their hands, creating art from foraged plants, and tasting and smelling the wild edibles they collect. They return home with sharper observation skills, deeper confidence in the outdoors, and a renewed sense of curiosity.
Awakening the Explorer Within
Bird Walks
Some birds love the water’s edge, others prefer trees or tall grasses. On two guided walks—one by the pond and one through the backyard—campers discover, observe, and identify many birds that call Dhun home.
Mud Sculpting
Using natural mud, campers bring their field observations to life—sculpting the birds they met on their walks, adding unique features, and imagining the stories each bird holds.
Foraging Walk for Flora
A slow, mindful walk to discover Dhun’s native, edible, and medicinal plants. Campers taste a few along the way and gather leaves and flowers to use later in their art-making.
Art with Nature
Using their foraged finds, campers create beautiful artworks—transforming leaves, flowers, and natural textures into prints.
Night Walk Under the Stars
A gentle nighttime exploration of the bioreserve—listening to the sounds of the dark, noticing nocturnal life, and learning about the stars with our naturalist.
We gather around the fire to share stories, reflect on the day, and build friendships under the open sky..
